Mountains, Forests, and Rivers
The majority of my photography work is about the topography of my
neighborhood, about the mountains, forests, and rivers of Northern New
Hampshire.
Ultimately, my hope is to convey subtly and for the most part
indirectly, my underlying sense of the world and what is to be valued in
it.
My picture taking is somewhat haphazard, nothing is planned ahead, generally I leave my house with a small camera, with no expectations other than trying to capture a fleeting moment in the flow of time, or as Su Tung-p'o famously said:
"... as swift as fire to catch what was fleeting away,
for once a clear scene escapes us it cannot be grasped again."
